Well since the last update its been the same with an up and down pain level and with the return of the radiculopathy, yes sadly, I thought the trapped nerve had been released from the doctor’s suggestion of the disc bulge from my lumbar spine and had shriveled up, releasing the nerve.
After 3 weeks of the relief, it’s back. I was able to speak with my main surgeon, Dr. Ganocy. He suggested I have an MRI in the same area, which I agreed with wholeheartedly because I am at my wits’ end, and just want to get this over and done with. I will be speaking with him again on May 24th, at which time I hope he can give me a time frame of when the surgery is going to happen.
I still don’t know which surgery they are going to perform, but I did speak with my physician’s assistant to Dr. Gainicy; Dr. Joe. He said there is hardly any difference between the MRI’s and he put me back on the surgical list.
Kaiser Permanente is one of the hospitals that are going back to regularly scheduled surgeries on May 18th. So, with this news, I am expecting, really hopeful, in June or July. Jen, my wife, has been helping me greatly by getting me out for a walk every day. Some are better than others. She also started an exercise routine which I am trying to do the low impact version, which I continue to do until I feel the pain in my left quad, and my back starts seizing up.
That’s it for now, taking the usual medications, and really just waiting until I speak with the surgeon later this month. I’ve had a few of you contact me by text and email to ask how I am. Thank you so very much. I will update you on my health as soon as I know when the next step is.
